Title: The Branch That Started It All

Title: Eye see the City
Materials: Acrylic paint, colored pencils and watercolors 2018 Painting The thing that inspired me the most to make this was the love I have for being in the city. The summer before I started 8th grade, I had gone to New York with some family and friends and I absolutely loved it. Ever since I was little I dreamed of living in New York someday and running my own fashion line. |
Title: Colors Galore
Materials: Sharpies 2019 3D Mixed Media The thing that mainly inspired me to make this was the lack of colors I incorporate into my artwork. While I was thinking of something to make, I decided to go through my old artwork and noticed that I use a lot of colors I personally enjoy. With this project I decided to add in colors and shapes I wouldn´t normally add in. I really like that I went out of my personal box with this project because I don´t think I would ever do this with any of my other projects. After I finished everything, I started to realize that I do like some of these colors and I might incorporate them into my future projects. |
Title: Sharp Symbol
Materials: Metal, blade, jewelry tools 3D Mixed Media 2019 For this project, I decided to create my own shape, including shapes I like. My project doesn´t have a true meaning, more so a learning experience. Overall, I like how it turned out, not only because it was a learning experience, but also because it was something I would have never decided to do personally. My favorite thing about my piece, is how there are a few curves. I thought it was going to be difficult and that I would break the blade a few times but luckily I managed and it turned out pretty good. |
Title: Shimmer and Shine
Materials: Wire, tape, watercolor paper, watercolor, glitter gel, paint 3D Mixed Media 2019 For this project, I choose to create build a tree branch out of wire and tape. At first I made the tree branch too wide and didn't like how it turned out so I restarted all over again. I was afraid that I would manage my time wisely and not get it turned in one time but I did better then I thought I would have. I really like the color of the branch and how it oddly blends well with the bright yellow background. With the pedals, I choose to watercolor them purple, blue, and gray, then coat them all with glitter gel. I was skeptical on using the glitter gel at first because I thought that maybe it would be overpowering but it actually made the pedals ¨pop out¨ more. I decided to only make one branch because it relates to my very first project that I ever made and it even ties in with most of my projects. Before I took any art classes, I wasn't thinking about relating most of my artwork to nature but it somehow turned into that but I am okay with that. |
Title: Seeing what I want to believe
Materials: paper, drawing pencils 2019 Advanced Art Studio What inspired me to make this art project is the scary thought of anorexia. I have had friends who have gone through this disorder and I couldn't do much for them. I really like how this turned out because I am not much of a drawer but when I really took hard work and dedication into it, it turned out really good. I also took into consideration how I have been wanting to focus on details and because I really did that with this project, it really allows viewers eyes to see two bodies in one. |
Atrocious Pair
Materials: various types of oil pastels and drawing paper 2019 Advanced Art Studio What inspired me to make this project is the lack of skills I have when it comes to oil pastels. I also was inspired to make this project because of my last. This year has been my first year ever that I have made semi-realistic human body parts as my projects. Mainly my projects consist of less details but I am trying to come out of my comfort zone and add more details into my projects. I originally wasn't planning on having this be a series but as I was trying out different colors I then found out that it would be better all together then be separate. |
